Site/Civil
Assist in the preparation of studies, designs, permitting, construction administration for projects ranging from school redevelopment projects with grading, sedimentation and erosion control, storm water management through hydrologic evaluation and hydraulic design, roadway design on horizontal and vertical alignments. Assist in the inspection of the construction administration of projects. This will include shop drawing reviews, responding to contractor RFI’s, site visits, review of payment requests.
Permitting
Assisting in the preparation of permits with local Inland Wetlands, Planning, and Zoning, etc., Army Corps of Engineers, CTDEEP. This will include necessary mapping, computations and completing the forms, and supporting narrative.
Environmental
Assisting in the completion of environmental site assessments. This includes Phase 1 and Phase 2. Completing groundwater sampling from shallow monitoring wells. Completing sampling of stormwater for permitting. Preparing reports with support documents and creating an original narrative.
Requirements
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other related fields. Registration as an Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineer desired.
Willingness to travel for extended periods and participate in projects on military bases in other parts of the country and internationally.
Proficiency in AutoCAD with Civil 3D experience.
Understanding and commitment to CAD standards and procedures.
Excellent communication skills – Verbal and Written.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to identify alternative solutions.

MCA is currently seeking a Survey Party Chief to work out of Rocky Hill, Connecticut Office on a variety of land surveying projects in Connecticut and throughout New England. The candidate must have at least 5 years’ experience as a Party Chief. Must be capable of operating Total Station and GPS equipment, AutoCAD experience a plus. Capable of field calculations for boundary, topographic, and construction surveys. Responsible for leading survey crew activities, training crews, assigned vehicle and equipment, and quality of work. The candidate must have a strong work ethic and work well as part of a team.
Responsibilities
Perform field survey activities for boundary, topographic and construction stakeout.
Plan daily survey field activities considering possible multiple projects to meet productivity goals set by Project Managers.
Assure crew adheres to procedures in the safety manual and uses all personal safety equipment provided.
Adhere to established company policies, follow all survey service line procedures and assure that the crew follows standard procedures.
Supervise crew-level vehicle and equipment inventory, loading, and maintenance. Make timely requests for external equipment, procedural changes, new equipment purchases, and vehicle maintenance to the Group Leader.
Supervise the crew’s use of equipment, preparation of sketches and notes, and electronic data collection.
Communicate with the entire crew and office staff about all aspects of the project.
Work without direct day-to-day supervision and make technical and supervisory decisions for projects assigned within specified limits of authority. Supervise daily Data Collector downloading.
Prepare daily time sheets, data logs, expense reports, and field change orders. Provide input to the Project Manager (Field Supervisor) and Group Leader for the formal performance evaluation of crew members.
Participate in Survey Department and/or crew training. Perform other duties as assigned.

MCA is seeking Engineering/GIS Technicians to work as part of a field team that will assist with the development of GIS databases and mapping to develop an asset management plans for the future. The work requires travel throughout the country and internationally to some of the largest military installations, staying in arranged accommodation with the project team.
General Responsibilities Include:
Identify, collect and investigate a variety of utility assets utilizing RTK Global Navigation Satellite equipment (GPS), Geographic Information System (GIS) tools and field collection apps.
Prepare detailed inspection forms to ensure all pertinent information was gathered.
Assist with establishment of data dictionaries and process to complete the data collection effort.
Complete field assessments of wastewater infrastructure, including manhole/utility structure inspections, smoke testing of utility lines, and subsurface utility engineering (SUE) investigations.
Support the project manager and team leader in meeting schedule and budget.
Responsible for ongoing communication and timely identification of issues to the PM and pending or actual changes to the work performed and may impact costs, schedule, contract, or customer relationship.
Field work include utilization of data collectors and tablets to collect asset information, opening and inspecting sewer manholes, lifting heavy equipment and walking through varied terrain.
Additional duties as assigned.
